the book is quite good too, its hard to read at first cause he write in their dialect.....but once you get passed that its good, better than the movie.......the next movie, who knows with that, cause I dunno if they are planning on using the same people.....I think McGregor said he wont do it.....the soundtrack is also amazing, all around good movie.......made me wanna try heroin tho, after I was using oxy....at least I cant get ahold of any good heroin, or my life would prolly be way worse......

just reread Porno, the sequel to Trainspotting. Its a great book... Dont expect the same heroin indulgence. The only one still using heroin in the sequel is Spud. And even he is having hesitation doing so. Renton owns a club in Amsterdam, Begbie is just getting out of jail looking for revenge, Sick Boy starts off as a pimp in London, and moves back to Leith to run a family pub - he is sporting a hellva coke habbit. In his club he schemes on making stag films and feature legnth Porno flicks (which are heavily regulated in the UK - no hard cock or penetration scenes)

Anyhow, Id suggest the book. I would also read Glue, cause there are a few charaters in that very fine peice of literature that co star in Porno. The ending is classic, I only hope it translates into film. I cant give that up though. you will have to read it...

Also, a while back, when dorje was still around we were reading the bedroom secrets of master chefs. This is another welsh book i would also recommend.

Fuck that it wasnt better than the movie! Not that I read it....but the simple fact i can get the whole story in 2 hours versus 2 days of continous reading has to make it better then the book! Havent you heard drugs cause APATHY :D

I need to take a second to recommend John Hodge... he adapted trainspotting to screen play, also wrote shallow grave, and i think orphans. he is an awsome writer.

book is indeed way better. the movie skipped out on MUCH of the story.... How tommy died, rents brother, there were even more folks involved in the big heroin deal in london. i like how each charater in both of his books (all really) are written. chapters are set up in the prespective in that charater (spud, rent, sickboy, begbie) you can tell right away who you are reading by the accent / dialect welsh uses, and the attitude. so where the movie is in rents mindframe, tbe book gives them all. and just to be in begbies heid.... its classic

the book is much much better, more characters......there is a character named davie that contacts aids and takes out revenge on the guy tha caused it, its fucking awsome...anyways, you prolly could read it anyways they dont say 'yall or 'yuns or any of that georgian dialect....and the movie is only 90min not 2 hours....Im a junkie too, but try exersizing your goddamn brain please.....somewhere in the future you may need it.......the only thing about the book I didnt like was the graphic explanation of when renton shoots up in his dick.....gross....anyways, you should start with archie comics and work your way up.....let me know, there are even things called libraries....they may even have em in georgia......Dr Seuss is good too, Fox in Socks.....
