CP patient 2 herniated disc and spinal fusion surgery. I choose OC or fentanyl whenever I want when I have appointments or when I need to refill

Chronic pain due to nerve damage caused by six compression fractures to my T5-T11 verterbrae and spondolilysthesis (sp?) at L5S1. I have had a surgery to fix my T9 which was a burst fracture that caused a ruptured disc from the damage. Probably will have to take some kind of pain medicine for the rest of my life since I also have a kyphosis (curvature of the spine), in addition to the nerve damage. Not very fun.
If I had insurance right now, I'd be off the OxyContin and OxyIR and go back to the Opana CR 20milligrams and either the 5mg Opana IR or Dilaudid 4mg. Opana is still pretty expensive since it just came out about a year ago, but it controlled my pain much better and didn't wear off as quickly as the OC.

me too, thoracic outlet syndrome- brachial plexus impingment or brachial plexus injury. everyone calls it something different, PM calls it one thing, therapy calls it another, PCP calls it something else, and ortho calls it yet something else. it hurts like a mo fo though

spondolilysthesis at L5S1 along with a herniated disc a tthat level, a ruptured l4-l5, as well as narrowing of the nerve canal a the level above that though that hasnt started causing pain yet a that level... i forget what its called
i only get roxi 15's though, and it was a bitch just getting that, ive had numerous MRI's as well as the most painful procedure ever, a discogram, to see which levels may need surgery if i need to go that route..... seems like every doc wants to jump directly to doing a fusion which for someone like me who is an ex athlete and bber is something i want to avoid, so im hoping maybe i can get a dual discecomy instead of fusion, because it would really suck if i got fusion and it didnt end up a success, especiallly if they come up with a viable effective disc replacement not long after i get the fusion done....
if your asking this question because you are trying to figure out a way to get a script, dont bother.... its taken me over a year just to get 60mg of oxy IR per day..... although having just turned 29 im sure that has something to do with it.... but at the same time how is me being scripted something addictive on a somewhat long term basis any worse than making me undergo a spinal fusion at my age which is what my one pain doc wanted me to do and refused to give me any more pain treatment when i decided i wanted to put of surgery another 6 months at least in the hopes that PT with some self prescribed hGH and workouts(didnt tell him about my hGH plans though)
I've got an MRI showing that a herniated L4-L5. Lucky me I don't have any real pain from it but still get a giant bottle of OC, percs, and soma each month ;)

You got that right, man! Once I learned how to shoot those buggers, it was all down hill, no UP HILL from there. Felt like I was forever pushing a boulder up that same hill. I just wish I didn't go as overboard as I did, but it's a total defect in my brain! Always had to have juuuust a little more. At the peak was using 400mgs a day (10, 40's via IV)
I have DDD of the spine. One lumbar 360 degree fusion (L4/5) and one crevical fusion (c6/7). Pretty much live in constant pain, so I couldn't understand why everyone got bent out of shape. I am starting to get that Libertarian philosopy too, Duck! (and I'm just right behing ya on the age thing, too...) Listen, it's MY f'n body, and I should be able say what I put in it! If it's helping me make it through the difficult days with a shit eatin grin on my face, it can't be bad! Oh wait...my wife is peeking over my shoulder...sorry dear...Listen! Drugs are bad, stay away from em! (send 'em to me, and I'll dispose of them properly for you!
