YOU knew that the Story would turn heads and have people spun into controversy!!
And for what?
So people will grab your rag paper and check it out? So there would be more people reading it?

I think that is absolute horse shit.

I learned at a very young age not to trust the media, especially newspapers. A story about an incident involving some friends of mine at the time was printed in the local paper. Thats exactly what it was, a 'story,' completely fictional in nature actually. They completely sensationalized the whole thing and misrepresented everyone involved. It made it impossible for the people involved to get a fair trial and everyone had to do hard time.

Firstly, Salvia is not that great, I would call it more of a medicinal herb than a psychadellic.

Secondly, I seriously doubt 'kids' are saying how great it is. Don't you have to be 18 or over to get into head shops these days anyway?!?

Thirdly, fuck the media for ruining a good (decent) thing. And fuckety, fuck, fuck you if you believe anything you read. And a super fuck you to the so called journalist furthering your career at the expense of others.

:violent3:

I've read that onto the Daniel Siebert ' site ....It's a real dumb shit to make Sally illegal ; it's a so amazing plant !
Dont you hate when newspapers and media fuck shit up for us?

Well , yeah , I understand what you mean : medias try to make "sensationnalism" shit and are ready to write complete lies if it can be more "commercial" ..(..and ALMOST if they can sell more fuckin'articles )
In my country (France) , they 've made Iboga (Tabernante Iboga) illegal at the beginning of this year , only because 2 people are dead , because of a misuse (2 girls have took their 'done before their Iboga session ..can you imagine it ??) , and Ayahuasca illegal on 2005 (because of "potential abuse ":D....when you know that nobody know this stuff in France ,that there is no addict to aya', and that only less than a thousand of people have use it yet at least one time in their life in this country), Peyote illegal on 2004 , Khat illegal on 1994 ...
At least , poppy are still legal to grow ....but for how many times ???
I'm really convince that media have their part of responsability when a drug is make illegal , because of all the crap they could write on it , only to impressive morons , and to sell them their shitty news ..

A plant of the Lamiacean family (like sage and mint plants) which contain salvinorin A , a very powerful psychedelic substance . Quite interesting , because Salvinorin A is a terpenic compound , agonist of the opioid receptor "delta" , which is really strange ..(the agonist of opioid receptor are normally alcaloid , not terpens !!)
This plant has been discovered in 1967 by Albert Hoffmann (the man who first synthetized LSD) and Gordon-wasson (the first Occidental man who try magic mushrooms in Mexic , and assist to a "velladà") .

ya people tend to either like it or really hate it. there really isnt a middle ground. most people i know who have tried it decided that they would never do it again.

In Australia, it's been illegal for a little while - seems like everything is though, more so than America. Kratom is illegal here as well.

I think it is absolute BULLSHIT that Salvia has been placed on the same level as Heroin and Cocaine over here - isn't that just the most ridiculous thing ever?

Used to be able to buy it easily in shops such as herbal shops and shit, and down in Nimbin (Pot capital of Australia - major tourist spot. Any guesses why? )

My friend and I have a shared stash that we have leftover from when it WAS legal. She loves it, I don't get into it as much, find it doesn't really do much for me, and when it does, it makes me sick.

Stupid drug laws make me even more sick!

Didn't you know that all versions of "the Media", and all those who call themselves "journelists", are evil, satanic, demonic, paranoid, delusional, schizophrenic, plagerizing, dishonest, unholy, terrorist bottom-feeders? AND they just don't give a flyin' fig about who and how many of who they hurt by distributing mass disinformation, while wearing one o' their many, many disguises of "cool".

This issue also brings to mind my irritation at having to purchase a "spore syringe or print" and have it sent to me mother in law in TX*, because it is illegal for me to purchase them and have them sent to me in CA, because, or didn't you know, that people who are "high on psilocybin containing mushrooms" are capable of doing all kinds of horrendous shit, including possibly harming themselves and/or others. Must be true, cuz it was reported many times in the newspapers.

*she thinks i'm growing "exotic, gourmet mushrooms" for me "gourmet cooking experiments".

that's kinda harsh on the schizophrenic population ain't it?

after all 1 in 100 exhibit symptoms.

ps: I don't know what I'm talking about either

You busted me, deviated. I AM the "1". Well, that's me excuse, at least, for the outpour of nastiness I just unleashed. Sorry bout that, folks, and thank you for listening.

*shhhhh....the people from Atlantis are trying to get in touch with me.....

Um...if you've only smoked salvia, and have bad opinions, I don't blame you (even though I like it myself). However, if you're looking for a truly powerful inner experience, chew a rolled bundle of about 12 leaves, chewing until totally pulpy then spitting out, taking another bite, chewing, etc, until it's gone.

Holy crap that was one of the most visually beautiful and mentally challenging experiences I've ever had. Siebert's elixer and perhaps some other good quality liquid extracts can approach the same power level. Smoking...I don't see the point. Spending $20 bucks on something that'll only last a minute or two seems like a waste.

Hmmm...I really ran into it with that last sentence.

salvia in low doses can have some mild and useful opioid effects.

a girl I watched smoke it for her first time described only opioid effects...she said for about 45 minutes it felt like hydrocodone to her.

when I was using buprenorphine, I found that salvia divinorum, which is a kappa opioid agonist, (so is buprenorphine) would help me get comfortable at night, when I wouldnt want to take more buprenorphine cause it keeps me up late....but I would smoke a little salvia, and then that stuff would put me to sleep, and satisfy my buprenorphine cravings.

it can also help opiate withdrawl a bit. IF you dont take too much. the effects of salvia differ alot at different dosage levels.

recently scientists have created an analog of salvinorin a, the active kappa opioid agonist in salvia....this analog has typical MU opioid activity, and is being researched for its painkilling applications.
these researchers found something very amazing with this salvinorin a analog....when given on a daily basis to lab animals, they found that the compound didnt initiate as much addictive reaction....
it seems this drug might be a good painkiller that doesnt cause as much addiction.
well see when they try it out on humans.
hopefully some kick ass chemist can convert the few grams of pure salvinorin a that I have isolated into this research compound.

some people cant stand salvia divinorum, and some people love it.
I think the material should be tried in very small doses initially, the effects differ greatly at different dosages, and there are some enjoyable effects in the lower dosage range.
at high doses, if you are the 4/5ths of people that can feel salvia (not everyone is affected by it, even huge doses dont effect some people) salvia can be a very similiar experience to ketamine.

I think that if a person took pure salvinorin a, created a drip system for IV administration, and then metered the drug to about a milligram per 10 minutes, you might create a very similiar experience as ketamine. the reason the drug is so short acting is intriuging....is there some rapid enzymatic destruction of salvinorin a? do humans have a similiar compound as salvinorin a that exists endogenously?

states that are illegalizing this drug now are idiots in my opinion...the drug shows so much promise for future and current research.
if this new drug that is created from salvia goes to market, human testing etc, and becomes a real drug, the plant may have to be scheduled, but it will be a schedule 2 drug hopefully, instead of schedule 1.

absolutely one of the most amazing plants known to man in my opinion. it is also very easy to grow, and make cuttings from.

recently I have been researching another salvia species, that apparently has mu opioid effect. I am growing this salvia species this summer, and this fall, will harvest all parts of the plant and report back.

I think I've already
ruined my chances
of enjoying this plant.
I've been reading
all the experience reports
on message boards
and the general consensus
is that the trip is extremely heavy
(although short lived)
with a temporary disintegration of the ego
and violent and malevolent visions
that are intense and frightening
when the plant is smoked.
Now I have the fear
and I hesitate to use enough
to get a breakthrough experience.
They say those 5 minutes
can seem like an eternity
in salvia time.
I'm also strangely superstitious
of this plant, I don't want
to offend the lady that resides within
this strange and mysterious plant.
I think its a crime
the way some sites
make it out to be a party drug
because I'm convinced its a power plant
with intrinsic shamanistic properties.
I think this is one of the plants
that castenada was writing about.

Jacky,what's an average dose
for you to use?
I have the 10x extract
but want to experiment
with the plain leaf first.

I tried the extract
over the weekend
and it gave me a short
marijuana like high-
and I kept thinking
there was a memory
I needed to remember.
This was from only
1/12 of a gram.

I've smoked the extract and the straight plant matter before (and the plant matter with extract sprinkled on top, definitely the way to go btw). All that happened to me was I got a marijuana like high, pretty extreme like the first time you smoke where you giggle all sorts, which lasted like 5 minutes. That was a hilarious five minutes! I dont think I've ever laughed so hard, and my friends who were with me all remember what happened and in retrospect, it wasn't all that funny. Just seemed that way, ya know?

Good stuff if you ask me. Pretty harmless IMO, humble as it may be. But violent visions I couldnt imagine, that does sound scary. Maybe I didn't use enough. I'm no expert by any means, I havent had the desire for further experimentation since.

Now kratom on the other hand, thats a fine herb. I need to pay my credit card bill so I can order some more, its been awhile.

I just ordered a blosser strain plant .. I read that sometimes you see people or strange beings
or just see objects that are not there.. I don't want to screw up my lungs on this leaf so I will try a quib and try to get as far as I dare on the stuff.. for revelation purposes of course
