my reliable source was gone for a week and i was really excited when a friend said he had a friend that could get some.

i spent hours driving around today waiting for the friend to get around so he could call his guy. we finally meet up, he is a nice guy. starts telling all these stories and shit about picking up and bla bla bla. tells me he he has to give the guy the money and he will be back in 10 minutes with the stuff.

i knew i shouldnt have done it, i know its just so fucking shady to give someone over a hundred dollars and hope they will be back. i asked many questions like your sure this guy is good? how do you know he will be back? is he trustworthy? i just couldnt say to call off the deal because i had already invested so much time in calling these people and getting this to work.

10 minutes go by, the guy calls, tells this wild story about how he is looking for the guy who he gave his money and our money too. another 10 minutes go by the guy says he is at his girlfriends house and she is calling him and no answer. another 20 minutes go by and nothing seems to be happening and i start accepting the fact i just got robbed out of 140 dollars.

i feel so fucking miserable. i had such a bad feeling i just couldnt say no, the promise of dope was too strong.

:(:(:( try to cheer me up if you can.

Ya man, I've never given anybody money on the front to go pick up until I started shooting dope. It used to be my rule but once I was hooked the rule went out the window. For some reason the payoff is worth the risk. Especially when you have no options. The fucked up thing is that junkies are the most likely people to take your money, heheh. It's like a catch 22, ya know?

Anyway, I know exactly how you feel but you had no choice. This guy was your only hope and he capitalized on your weakness. Karma will pay him back. Until then, work on getting a couple of bucks together and get back out there and hustle up a fix.

If you're at all like me, you probably woulda pumped that $140 into your arm by days end (save a little bit for your morning fix of course). So don't sweat it, easy come easy go.

That sucks. It's a sad reality of the lifestyle. We all say that we never put money up (at least I do) but the truth is, sometimes you have no choice and have to take a chance. Unfortunately, we're especially prone to desperation which sometimes leads to bad decisions in trust..

I fucking hate getting burned but it happens. Hurts less when money is easier to come by, hopefully you'll be able to scrape something up..

Sadly, it is very true... being a girl helps a lot. Back in the day when i did Meth (15 years ago), i could get drugs for free pretty easily. MY dealer would give me free drugs all the time but not do it for his men clients. Showing a little cleavage is a good weapon for us as well, for dealers and doctors lol.

If i was broke and needed some meth i'd just look pretty with a sad pouty face and i'd get my drugs. Even his girlfriend would give me drugs for free but she was bi-sexual.

It's not fair but it's reality.

Hey, be kind to yerself. Sure, we *all* know better than to do it...but sometimes, the situation is different for some reason(s), we do it anyway, and get burned. You're only human, learning.

Ya know, I have a story that might actually cheer you up (instead of just saying 'buck up soldier' like I started off with).

Back when I used to sell bud, I got ripped off for $1000 one time. Someone broke into my house and stole my drug money when I was out partying, or at the bar, or something to that extent. I had been very careful not to whip out my knot when dealing to strangers but I would pull out my roll of bills and make change when friends came over to buy without a second thought.

Whoever broke in and robbed me knew I was almost out of bud so my whole turnaround was in the house. They went right to the two different places where I stashed my money (half and half in case I got robbed) and disturbed nothing else. I could understand if my room was torn apart, but whoever it was knew exactly how much I had, exactly where I kept it, and exactly how to get into my house and when I wasn't going to be home. In other words, it was an inside job. That means it was one of my so called 'friends.'

It hurt, I must admit. Someone had to be brought to justice so I convinced myself of who had done it (with some suggestions from other 'friends') but there was no evidence and no one knew for sure. So me and my real mates loaded up the car and rolled him. We roughed him up pretty good, but he never did admit he had done it. I just convinced myself it was him and something had to be done so we got it over with.

To this day I don't know for sure it was him. I actually suspect that it was another 'friend' who had been the one who accused the suspect the loudest and was the first one in the car when it was time to ride. You have alot of 'friends' when you have unlimited bud to smoke for free.

So anyway, the suspect and I never spoke again. I had been in the business long enough and earned the trust of enough connects to work on the front for the next month or two until I made my money back. Alls well that ends well.

The point is: if you think it feels shitty getting beat by a stranger (you almost expect that), it feels much worse when its a friend.

Now whip out your credit card and go cash advance yourself a fix! If you can't tell, i have ALOT of credit card debt. ;)

Just look at it as a learned lesson.

I'm not trying to rehash what everyone already said, but never give money up front when copping drugs. Sure it may seem like that guy was trying to do you a favor, but that's certainly a rare quality amongst junkies. As a junkie, your mind is always spinning thinking of possible ways to acquire money, and therefore dope. He planned on taking the cash as soon as you guys approached him... Dude just saw the opportunity and took it. Sadly, you can only blame yourself.

This kind of reminds me of a situation I was in about a week ago. Me and a friend were planning to sit around at my house and watch a movie, but first we went to our usual dealer's place to cop, having talked to him already. We get there, he comes to my car, and tells me all they have is crack. Now I'm thinking "what the fuck, this guy knows we come for dope every day, why would he make us come all the way down when he didn't even have any"?

So, we roll out of there, and my friend calls another connect, one who he only deals with VERY rarely, and who one time sold my friend some fake bags, but we've since gotten real dope from him quite a few times. After like 15 minutes of phone screwyness, he finally gets a hold of this guy, we'll call him Poe. So Poe tells us to meet him at this chinese food place which is in the ghetto, but not too much worse than our usual spot. Plus being at an actual restaurant makes me a bit less paranoid about police. So we get to the chinese place, my friend goes in and orders an egg roll for Poe, and we wait.. and wait... and wait. Finally, half an hour and 3 phone calls later, he finally pulls up, and my friend walks off to his car. After about 2 minutes, he comes back to my car, and tells me to pull down the street. I said "what, are we following him?" and he goes "no, I gave Poe's friend the money, he's walking down the street to get the dope from his house". So immediately I'm thinking my friend is an idiot, and just threw our $80 down the tube, and I basically told him so.

So we sit on the side of the street waiting, while I tell my friend that this guy isn't coming back, and now we're gonna be sick. 5 minutes or less later, a guy comes walking up to my car, and jumps in the back. He hands us a bundle of dope, and gets out, and we're on our way.

WHEW! Just goes to show you that sometimes giving the money upfront doesn't get you screwed, although it's a possibility. It was worth the wait though, as this dope was killer, much better than our usual stuff, and the bags were at least the same size, if not a bit bigger. Now that I think about it, he did short us a bag, but it didn't really bother either of us, especially once we realized how good this dope was. 4 bags IV'd at once had me extremely faded, especially considering I had already shot a bundle earlier in the day.

Anyway, sorry to hear you got beat, but it happens to the best of us. I never hand money over to anyone besides this one friend from my story without seeing the dope first, but what he did in this particular situation, albeit risky, definately paid off.

Wow, TK that really sucks! Obviously, it's part of the game, but stuff like that doesn't help when it has just happened! I had it happen a few months ago- was going to a guy who had been recommended to me. I had been talking to the guy who recommended him for ~ a year, but didn't try the new guy until about a month before I got ripped. Up until the last time, he had been good- once he didn't have the # of g's I wanted, so he gave it to me in vials- ended up being quite a bit more than what it should have been all in one piece. The last night I was there it was later than usual and there was a security patrol driving around - not a cop, some kind of local security. The guy came out, he had always carried it with him so i pulled out the cash and he took it. He said he'd be back in 5- never came back out & and never answered his phone again, I hate admitting or even thinking about the amount, but BP has me beat!

I got ripped off for $1000 one time. .......................
The point is: if you think it feels shitty getting beat by a stranger (you almost expect that), it feels much worse when its a friend.

Wow BP, that must have hurt! You have me beat for most stolen! It is worse when it's a friend, that's why I get so pissed off when people take things that don't belong to them- you never know what you're doing to them.

WHEW! Just goes to show you that sometimes giving the money upfront doesn't get you screwed, although it's a possibility. ~CTdopeLove

You are very lucky CT! With my guy, I was hoping he had just been freaked about the security guy and would call the next day and straighten it out, never happened. I do have a couple ways to get some info on his identity, but am not sure if that's the best way to pursue it. I do believe in karma and people who fuck other people over will get fucked harder in the end - I just hope I'm there to see it ;)

Now that I think about it, one time when I was younger and a bit naive, I gave this kid John, who I didn't know but a friend of mine with me did, $80 to get me 160mg of OC. We bring this kid John to his "friend's house" to buy the pills, he goes inside, and we sit outside in my car waiting, and waiting, and waiting. Finally, I went up to the door, and the kid inside informs me that this kid John did stop by, but he left via the back door.

So, knowing I got burned, and wanting to get back at him in a non-violent manner, I went to a pay phone, and called 911. I told the operator "I'm scared, I don't want to get him in trouble, but my best friend John Soandso told me today in school that he is going to kill himself today with an overdose of pain pills" then hung up the phone.

I find out the next day that police and paramedics went to his house, found him in possession of 3 OC 80's, and took him to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation. He ended up being kept there for over 2 weeks for some reason, rather than the normal 72 hours. Revenge was mine, muwhahahahaha!!!

That was harsh. Couldn't you have just confronted him about it?

I only got ripped off once. It was early in the morning around 7-8am and for some reason none of my dealers were answering their phone. So, I decided to go to a different spot. Now, this was a high traffic spot that caters to hardcore junkies. There's even a house where you go in and the door gets barricaded so you have enough time to to prep and do your shot. I get there and I notice a guy outside. He asks me what I want and I tell him one bag. I was looking for a bundle, but I always do a test bag before I buy from someone I don't know. The guy asks for the money, and I figured wtf I'm sick and I want this asap. He takes the money and goes off. He comes back in 5 minutes and says "Yo, the cops are around the corner, you gotta go." I was thinking fuck that, and before I could reply he just runs off.

I just went around the corner, literally, and bought from those guys.
