coarse throat

hey guys. every time i shoot i get a sore throat and when i try to talk it sounds like i am losing my voice. drinking water helps a tiny bit, but not really.

it doesnt happen to my friend who i use the exact same stuff, same quantity with.

does anyone have an idea why this happens and how i could prevent it?

I've never experienced that effect, the idea is you should be pain-free after your fix. Does this occur only with dope from a particular dealer? Maybe its the cut, sounds fishy to me. Try a new dopeman.

If your friend doesn't experience it, maybe your allergic to something in the cut. Sorry, I'm grasping at straws here. Thats a helluva problem.

You'd have to be pretty damn allergic to be feeling anything after a good fix. That sucks.

Gotta go with Pony on this one. I'm stumped. I assume your slammin H since that's the forum you posted in. Very wierd. can you try another source for your dope and see if the same thing happens?

Any other signs of allergy, like trouble breathing unusuall itchies..like a rash or anything?

I never have it happen the minute I shoot, but after a night of doing opies my throat gets hoarse and sore....thats pretty common.

im shooting various new york off white powder. the shit is fine.

ill try benadryl next time and see if it is an allergic reaction sort of thing

Dope will dry out your mouth, this is more or less normal. The result is often indistinguishable from a sore throat, at least from the point of view of anyone listening to you. And yeah, this can happen pretty fast after a shot.

One of the people I work with is always commenting on the fact that I seem to get a lot of sore throats. What the hell, all I can do is say, as innocently as possible, "Yep, guess I do get a lot of those, now that you mention it. Don't know why that happens, must be allergies or something..."

The only fix I know for this problem is to always have a drink handy, or cough drops.

Ya, once you get into a circle of users/dealers it can be kinda hard to get dope that didn't originate from the same source in one way or another. Some people (I call these people despicable degenerates) do some pretty weird shit to stomp on your bag before you get it.

Thats one reason I mentioned that possibility. For now just keep pretending you're sick!

Hey, maybe you could use it to your advantage!?!? Boot a HUGE shot and the stumble into the Dr.s all fucked up and inflamed throat and shit. Should be good for some prometh. w/ codeine at least. Mix that shit with some sprite over ice, throw 3-Six-Mafia on the stereo, and down the ole hatch.

Naw, probably a big waste of time but, who knows, might come in handy one day when shit gets heavy!

Reminds me of Belize: I was just talking to some friend about my favorite drink down there. You could buy paregoric over the counter, and I'd pour a big slug of paregoric in with rum, then fill it up with ice and coke, squirt of lime...worked good for me, hit the spot! I was staying over in a place called Mango Creek, right next to where u caught a motorized canoe over to Puerto Cortez, Honduras.

I never got out of dodge for about a month, then when I stopped drinking and paregoricking, I had my first ever, siezure...I don't know if it was the rotgut rum or the paregoric, but it was a crappy ending to a fun month...

i suffer the same side effect every now and then, H being both shot or snorted ( i mean, not at the same time, but the ROA doesn't seems to affect it- it just happens). not exactly that 'feeling you're about to lose yr voise' (as after a football ggame, lol) but like you smoked too much ciiggies.

PS took me like 15 min. to type this, i\m missing letters and crap. .. reason: still sky high from my last shot, plus everthing looks double and i can't focus for no shit with 2 eyes open. the shit we suffer chasing the kick... pathetic :D

i think therse opioid receptors in the part of ur brain that controls speech or in ur vocal cords or larynx or something.... thats why when your loaded on opiates your voice slows down and you talk like your body is in slow motion (not to mention walk around in slow motion while talking in slow motion with pinned eyes and itching nonstop, lol)
