When i get that 'perfect dose' of PT, I can remember sometimes actually seeing the room around me with my eyes shut. Anyopne else ever experienced anything like this?
All physics say that this is an impossibility... maybe latent images being recalled...also though the 'image' is fairly accurate...unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't show the objects at my feet which i then trip over!!!

Yes, I totally have had that.

I think maybe morphine increases the amount of information that short term memory storage in the brain can handle. Maybe only for true opiophiles.
No to change the subject, buuuuuuut has anybuddy ever sniffed/snorted about 20mg of "Sonata?" the drug is a super short acting hypnotic (1 to 2 hours ) the chemical name is "zaleplon" It is the total bomb. It is quite the hallucinogen! except it makes you really really mellow. Try it kids!:D

What is it prescribed for? (what do i tell the ol doc?)

It's for insomnia. Really short acting. for people who have trouble falling asleep or for people who go to bed really late and have to get up early the next morning.
10mg capsules, one sniffed up each nostril are a freaked-out dreamy wonderland of moving floors and special-k type musings. wow.
this is my favorit non opiate drug.
I told the doc I was having trouble sleeping and that a few years back, another doctor gave me a few sonata's and they really worked well. No grogginess the next day and I fell asleep fast.
Snort 'em .....

Could be, I get this same thing, too. I was reading about drugs they're coming out with that increase the amount of energy with which synapses in certain areas of the brain hit. Maybe there is some effect like this going on? If the synapses hit harder, they say, the memory of the situation could be stronger.
Dunno, still sounds cool

Recently, I received 240 Sonata's (10mg) after advising my doctor that I was having trouble sleeping. After ingesting one of these pills, I found myself in la la land. After about four-five hours, I woke up totally ALERT (and rested?). I cannot go back to sleep after awakening (even if struck in the head with a small hammer).
Maybe its the 120 10mg Lortabs prescribed along with the Sonata. ;)

Haven't tried it with sonata, though years ago on zolpidem (ambien) I found a quarter-full jumbo jar of jelly beans to make an excellent kaliedescope that could be stared at for a good 20 minutes (just turning the jar, and gazing into it.)
However, you do tend to forget the period of time in which these events occur. According to my mom, several years ago I walked downstairs, acting like some kind of bizarre creature,....a bizarre creature wearing nothing but a t-shirt (how embarrassing.) It has never effected me as powerfully since that time (thank god.)
as for seeing through the eyelids, never happened to me on opiates.
I noticed very pronounced "sight with closed eyes" over just the past couple of days on subutex, while riding public transportation.

Ive had similar happen to me when smoking opium, including some weird shroom like visuals. Also when I took motion sickness medicine to trip I would get up and do things, talk to people and then realize I did nothing of the sort! =] Also, one time when I cooked up some pot similar things happened, I guess I ate too much (nah...) :)

I know exactly what you’re on about; I’ve often tried and experimented with it, see if the outline images will fade or whatever; stare at a white wall w/ a hallway opening in the middle of the wall which has no lights on down the hall, when you close your eyes you see the wall but it is now dark and the hallway opening is lighter, and you can walk straight to it and down it w/ the eyes remaining closed. I think the lights and darks of the objects in the room are “burned” into our retinas kind of like a pic negative and with the eyes closed we can still see the light from the dark giving the feeling of being able to see through the eyelids. I don’t know the effects of opies on the occipital lobe but I would guess for increased sensitivity to the contrast to shades as well as the retention of the negative that has been “burned”.
Can you tell I’ve had my tea tonight….chatty Cathy I am.
Hell it’s Fri night and nothing to do but sleep tonight.
Anyhoo yea I know what you're saying, and your right............ I thought I was the only one!!!!:D

wow, this is so strange.... this happens to me, too. It's like, I will be laying on the bed in the dark and close my eyes and will still see the outlines of the shapes of everything. I was laying there saying "it's like i can see much clearer with my eyes closed" and my boyfriend had no idea what i was talking about and ignored me.
I haven't walked around with my eyes closed very much, a couple times i had walked to the bathroom and oculd actually do it. But sometimes what i see with my eyes closed is slightly different than reality. Some objects will be missing. I could lay there and stare with my eyes open and compare when my eyes are closed...and it feels more comfortable with my eyes closed.
Sure can't explain it, but i'm glad i'm not losing it and the only person this happens to. And it has ALWAYS been on opiates, on tea and heroin.
